Goldilocks Zone contest for fiction, CNF, poetry, or art

Deadline: April 30, 2025

Sunspot Lit is looking for a short story, novel or novella excerpt, essay, artwork, graphic novel, or poem that combines excellence in craft with reader or audience appeal. Literary or genre works accepted. No restrictions on theme or category. Maximum of 2,500 words for short stories or nonfiction, 24 lines for poetry, and 8 pages for graphic novels. Opens April 1, closes April 30. Entry fee is $5 for a $100 cash prize and publication. Enter as many times as you like, but only one piece per submission. Simultaneous submissions are accepted. Sheila-Na-Gig Editions is currently seeking poetry from Black, Indigenous, and other Poets of Color for AMPLIFY, a print anthology curated by Toledo, Ohio, poet Sandra Rivers-Gill. This anthology will exhibit powerful, provocative, poetry that amplifies and speaks to the personal experience. We are looking for poems that resist, bear witness to, prompt and inspirit, hope and affirm; poems that honor and celebrate. Heron Tree Call for Submissions

Until 15 May 2025, Heron Tree is accepting found poems composed from sources published in or before 1929. We are interested in any and all approaches to found poetry construction and erased or remixed texts. Accepted poems will be published weekly on the Heron Tree website starting later in 2025 and will be collected in a free, downloadable PDF volume. 2026 Oregon Poetry Calendar Submissions Open March 1, 2025

Deadline: May 31, 2025

Red Shoe Press submissions open March 1, 2025 through May 31, 2025 for the 2026 Oregon Poetry Calendar. Glossy wall calendar pairs poems with compelling photographs. This year’s theme is “the water around us.” Work accepted only from poets currently living in Oregon. No art needed. Responses by July 2025, publication by August 2025. Poets whose work is published in the calendar receive one free copy. Upon publication, all rights revert back to poet. Submit 1-5 poems in a single Word document. The New Verse News Seeks Current Events Poetry

Since 2005, The New Verse News has covered the news of the day with poems on issues, large and small, international and local. It relies on the submission of poems (especially those of a politically progressive bent) by writers from all over the world. Plant-Human Quarterly reads year-round.
