Publisher’s description: Permafrost Magazine is the farthest north literary journal for writing and the arts. Founded in 1977, Permafrost is housed at the University of Alaska Fairbanks MFA program. We publish a summer print issue as well as a winter online issue, both of which feature compelling poetry, fiction, literary nonfiction, and hybrid forms by established writers and new voices alike.
Recent contributors include Amy Jo Trier-Walker, Matthew Burnside, and Kayleb Rae Candrilli. Permfrost has also published interviews with Eva Saulitas, Robert Wrigley, Kim Barnes, and Jericho Brown.
Our unique environment shapes our perspective, but Permafrost seeks original voices from all over the world.
