Publisher's description: We’re a small indie publisher, a bedroom operation really, who publish realism and experimental writing. These days we’re interested in standard poetry volumes of 64pp (or so) and short fiction books of 100-150pp. We’re also interested in converting o.p. indie chapbooks and books into ebooks.
The press was named after Irish playwright Sean O’Casey’s 1924 play Juno and the Paycock. Partly because I was taking an Irish literature course in graduate school and loved the play, and partly because Peabody was originally Paybody across the pond. At the time I had no idea there was any Irish blood in my DNA and now thanks to Ancestry.com I’ve learned that there is some.
Our authors include: Michael Brondoli, Tom Carson, Ed Cox, M. Scott Douglass, John Elsberg, Harrison Fisher, Tina Fulker, George Myers, Jr., David Nicholson, Carlo Parcelli, Joyce Renwick, Jeff Richards, and Jesse Williamson. We have also published a seven-volume anthology series of fiction by Washington, D.C. Area Women, as well as other anthologies.
Forthcoming titles in 2019/2020 are short story collections by Ramola D. and Carmen Delzell, an unpublished novella by the late Lucinda Ebersole, and a collection of unpublished manuscripts (both poetry and fiction, thought lost forever) by the late British poet Tina Fulker.
